Electives not in the list
Engineers have this fixed list for electives that can be taken. is it possible for me to get permission from the counselor and take electives that are not there in that list?

Not sure if its possible, because thats the pre-approved list, and Id imagine they reviewed all courses and made that list.

doesn't pre-approved mean that those have already been approved and any other course might need an approval?

I think you can but its beyond the counsellors control. You'd have to take it up with the Dean of Eng I think and you'd need a pretty good valid reason why you want to take it. If you dont mind me asking what electives/courses were you thinking of taking not on the list? Just curious.

when I was in first year, one of my friends in eng 1 took environmental science as their elective but I recommend speaking with a counselor first.

So I've done this before and they let me take the course but it is not counted towards your elective. For me the course shows as a not assigned to a requirement but it counts toward the C.A. and S.A.. So if it's a bird and you want to take it for fun like I did you can always get permission it just may not count. I took Bio 1m03, just for fun. Defiantly talk to a counselor.

Well after paying $2000 for a course I would like it to be counted towards my elective.
