Eng 1AA3, Lit Longer Genres
Would it be completely wrong to email the prof and ask for the order of the reading list?
I'd like to get a jump start on it if it's possible.

Thoughts?

TIA,

Jackie

I wouldn't really reconmend it.

You are given enough time to read during the semester, and you can always read ahead once you're given the syllubus.

Thank you. I was leaning toward not doing it but needed a second opinion.

I've actually had profs tell me they don't like students who brown-nose. And...I don't mean to sound like a jackass...but you'd come off like a brown-noser!

Long story short, good decision.

Not a brown nose... more like a Mom with 2 little kids who can use any head start she can get! LOL

Ah yes. Children I'm sure may cause you to fall behind.

I admit, I didn't see that one coming.

Do the profs genereally like original opinions from students about teh literature or do they think in a way: "What I say is right, no room for another opinion!" ?

It depends on the prof. Some think their way is the only way. Others are more open to other opinions. That being said, if you are going to say their way/opinion/view point is incorrect back the HELL out of what you're saying. They are the expert, you are not. It is easy for a prof to rip a student apart.

Unless you're the one being ripped apart...

Damn. I'm just really antsy and I kinda wanna start reading these books I've bought for the course.

My guess would be Othello is first. If it is by chronological order.
