Hard course was hard! Dr. Niewczas was a little bit all over the place sometimes in lecture... took a while to get some of the language down (one upon two = 1/2).

From outline:
"This course deals with analytical descriptions of the elasticity, plasticity, metal forming and
materials processing operations of both metallic and nonmetallic materials. It is taught to
students in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering and Manufacturing
Engineering. The first part of the course will describe the analytical basis of plasticity and its
application to processes such as rolling, extrusion, wire drawing, forging and sheet metal
forming. The second portion of the course will deal with the processing of polymers, and (if time
permits) the casting and joining of materials."

Dealt with a lot of abstract concepts and nothing really concrete (like problems such as, if you have this material and want to roll it down to this size, how big are the rolls, what pressure, etc...) until the very end. I struggled! (I'm not very good at math).

We had 6 assignments, and the tests were fairly difficult- even though we had cheat sheets. Some found it alright though, this is just me talking.

Glad to get this one over with.
