Queens eng jackets are Purple after their first week. They are ordered in as some funky colour because they've found that colour works best with the purple overlay.
And Own. is right: I, and many others, like to think that becoming an engineer is a pretty big thing... Perhaps it's because it is a big thing?... I dunno... But I'll join in some/most of the cool tradition that has existed for longer than any of you (and myself) have been around, while I do my engineering degree, just as many have before me... Anyone working with an engineer in the workplace knows that in twenty years, half of us become stuffy old people, approving the bridges you drive on, the wiring in your building, the HVAC systems keeping you comfortable, and working on the life support systems and biological innovations that keep people alive (ironic, considering the number of years I've probably lost off my life because of stupid shit I've done since first year...)
So excuse me if myself and many others are enjoying their time here with grey-haired and wrinkly, but classic traditions.

Eng jackets are kind of like Helena Bonham Carter. Yes, we know they're ugly, a bit overrated, and their fans try too hard to get noticed, but it's their substance, not their style that keeps the fanbase strong.

I might say that I'm already quite old and stuffy, 91.

What did you expect a custom-made leather jacket to be priced at ? This isn't leather shipped to a foreign land to be done en masse for pennies an hour. This is 100% Canadian made, customized to your fit, with a custom made patch, and letters...
Oh well. Record sales this year. Best year in over twenty years. I'm satisifed: Should be a lot of overly picky people with lots of free time who will be excessively annoyed about the +100 new leather jackets walking about late December, and into the new year
If I just described you, go find a hobby.

I'm thinking it would be more efficient to get a cheaper leather jacket from elsewhere and then sticking a piece of paper at the back with "McMaster Engineering" on it.
Would be 567890987645789098765 67890 times better looking too.

I did the math to verify your statement... Turns out you forgot a decimal somewhere before the first 5.
