Engineering Vs. All other faculties Course Load
SO my friend and I got into an argument over whether Engineers actually have a harder workload than everyone else, or if they just complain that they do. I'm in Mechanical Engineering, she's in the Physical Sciences.

Can I get some input on this?

Engineers def do...and harder concepts oftentimes...not to mention that we do calculations, memorize theory, AND write essays...we do it all.

Print a blank calendar and write down when both of you have midterms. This should end any arguments pretty quickly.

Edit: you could add assignment deadlines too

It's sad, but a week with like only 1 deadline/test per day is an "easy" week.

I guess no one has seen a BA/BSW student's schedule.

An Engineering student may have more hours of class per week/more tests per term, but that doesn't necessarily mean they work harder than anyone else. "Harder workload" is all relative.

I hate to be "that guy", but it really doesn't matter, lol. Everyone finds certain things more or less difficult than everyone else. It doesn't matter what faculty you're in - it just depends on what you're good at in school and what you find easy/hard.

I have 7 midterms this term and 7 courses. Comparing the number of midterms and their dates doesnt mean shit.

all i can say is, we definitely get less out for what we put in. Its hard to say that an arts student with a B avg put in the same amount of work as an engineer student with a B average... from what ive observed anyways

AmyLia says thanks to jewfro9000 for this post.

agree, but a B average is just that: average bordering on bad for anyone outside of the engineering faculty. remember we're all trying to get into professional/graduate schools,

If an engineer averages an 8 for the semester(not including first years), christmas came early for them, if I average an 8 this semester I would cry......very manly tears.

a B avg isn't going to get anyone into medschool/grad school.......Im sorry if this sounds harsh, engineers put in a lot of work, but so do a lot of other people.

That's why all engineers are either dead of become deranged after 1st year.
