English 1A03
There isnt a course review for 1a03. I'm planning to take it over the summer with Dr. Clark. How difficult is it compared to grade 12 English?

pretty much identical
essays are tricky though
the testable material is basically name the author, and interpret something
my mistake was i treated it like it was an 'easy' course, and didnt care too much

My brother is taking the course right now. He thought he would only be looking at short stories exclusively. It turns out poetry is also taught in that class, and he sucks at poetry.
Other than the poetry, he is doing fine - but I'm pretty sure he is never taking another english course again.
So, if you like both short stories and poetry, I guess you'll like the class.

Is this class hard with the current prof (ie. a doable double digit)?

It depends on your high school. If they actually taught you how to write a paper properly then you should be okay. However if you have no idea what MLA citations are, you're going to need help from the TA.

Average grade for English classes are also a C/C+...so keep that in mind.

Class sucked (short story one right?). Studied Little Red Riding Hood like 15 different ways, there's just nothing to take from that class other than brushing up on essay writing. Better off taking something else that you can actually learn something from.

I'm currently taking the course with Dr. Zuroski,
and yes, half is short stories, half poetry.
Essays are tricky, you'll have to work hard. =/
No midterm.
& the exam consists of knowing all these poetic devices, how to scan poems, what each poem/short story we discussed was about (i.e. what was significant, what was the plot, etc etc), know the authors of each poem & their background.
woo..
