Exceeding the limit of allowed first year courses
Hello,

I need to take 2 first year physiology (kin) courses, however, on my degree audit it says that i have exceeded the limit. I can only take one of them. Anyone ever encounter this problem? Is there any way around it? I absolutely need to take these 2 courses.

Thanx!

You can still take the courses, but one of them will not count towards your degree. So you will have to make up for the 3 units.

You can do that, but you need permission to overload. You can also stay an extra year or do summer school.

Right, that's another option. Because you don't require it for your degree you don't need a letter of permission or anything from your associate dean to take it at another university. Which means you can take the course online and still take 30 units this year for your degree.

In first year, it is generally recommended that you should not overload. If you're a keener and want to try your shot at 36 credits, knock yourself out, the engineers do it every yr.

That's not what she meant. The question is about taking more than 48 level I credits (the maximum you're allowed for the duration any 4-year program).

Sara's right. I've unfortunately exceeded my limit for first year courses and I just realized that I actually need to take this kin course. I need it to meet the one year physiology requirement. It's not about being a keener.

Nope. It's a med school requirement. I initially didn't want to apply out of Ontario so I didn't check the requirements. When I thought it over, I decided that I should apply. One of the requirements is a full year of physiology and I've exceeded my first year limits.

Hi Sofia,

Could you possibly do Bio 2A03 in first term and Bio 3UU3 in second term, as they are both physiology courses. Or do they have to be specifically those two courses?
