Failing out need advice
Hey guys so my first year of university is coming to an end.
I'm attending McMaster and my GPA is going to fall around ~2.95, which is about 0.05 below the cutoff in order to continue at the school. I'm going to be kicked out.

I was in a social sciences program and was foolish enough to think that it would be business oriented to some degree, but it ended up just being a bunch of elective courses and then 2 economics courses. All of the good electives were full and I was left with a bunch of courses that I just didn't care for so I ended up skipping a lot. I lost pretty much all of my interest in the program and my marks reflect it.

I really want to get into a business degree program at another university. I understand that this is going to be hard, having just flunked out of my current program.

What I am wondering is, what are the best steps I can take in order to get back on track?
I'm looking to attend Ryerson mainly.

Should I go to college for a year and try to boost my GPA and then apply?
Should I take open courses at Ryerson and then apply next year?

I'm lost as to what to do now, any insight appreciated.

Don't you have any exams still? study your ass off and remember some courses get bell curved which means you might get a higher grade than you actually achieved. if you get into honours econ you can take commerce courses so dont quit just yet

Most business programs require you to take a ton of social science electives and then don't get me started on the Human Resources type courses.

Outlook is grim. University only gets harder. Try college.

There is no way for them to verify if you went to a University unless they request transcripts from all of them (which they won't).

Do better next time ok?
Yeah, you do that, and if they ever do find out, they can kick you out (or take back your degree if you have already graduated), since you cheated your way in and lied on your application. Good plan.

here's what you do... You need to start by purchasing a new identity. Once this has been completed, you simply reapply to university and there you go!... although you would also need to buy a background as well, give yourself good highschool marks, but not unbelievably high, they might get suspicious.
