Totally agree with Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Amazing game environment to play in and highly recommended. One thing though, its not an fps, so don't expect to kill things. Just run, hide and don't die...

Favourite: Resident Evil Series. 15 years well wasted.

Amnesia was awesome too. Until you realize how the game 'works'... It stopped being scary for me midway because of that... >_<

+1 to Silent Hill 2. Scared the balls off me, but so good.

If you liked Amnesia, the Penumbra series would be quite enjoyable. My list includes Amnesia, Penumbra, Doom 3, Dead Space 1 and 2, Fatal Frame series, The Suffering series, Clive Barker's Undying, and the F.E.A.R series.

It really depends what you mean by survival horror.

Pseudo-Point-Click:
Pneumbra
Amnesia: Dark Descent

3rd Person:
Resident Evil 4
Siren Blood Curse (Terrific Indie Title)
Alan Wake
Dead Space

First Person:
Doom 3

I'd give these titles a go if you haven't already played them, i'd stay away from newer titles like Resident Evil 5, that game is less survival horror and more run + gun braindead action. Also Sheeva's(your partner) AI in that game is from 1995.

I think you could substitute anything for "Dead Space" and have it be fun .

Example: "Hide the meat was fun.... at 2am in the morning... lights off....."
