Just curious, are you from Quebec/can you vote there?

It was awesome. He totally just went into that debate to troll Harper, since he only campaigns in Quebec anyway.

Did you see how he prepped for there French one? He had a life size cutout of Harper next to him and glared at it while he talked with his team.

During the last general election, I was attending University of Ottawa and I was living in Gatineau, the Quebec side. So I used/wasted my first ever vote (I was 19) on the BQ, just to say I've done it (I'm originally from Winnipeg, so most from there can't say they've went one for the Bloc). And no, the riding I was living in was won by the Liberals.

It's a running joke between me and my friends from high school. In reality though, I'm stuck in between the Libs and Cons ideologically, and in this election I can't really side with one or the other because they are certainly worlds apart. But it's still early.

Liberal Party, I knew it

Edit:

according to these articles, smarter people tend to be liberal:

You realize liberals of Canada and liberals of the US are drastically different sorts of people?

And rich people tend to be conservative. Hippies tend to be Green.
What's your point?

Ha! The first link doesn't even say anything about Americans or Canadians.
It talks more about liberal views than a specific party (just because someone has a liberal ideology does NOT mean they're gonna vote for the liberal party, lol).

And the second link doesn't say much about Americans either. It says that they took surveys of American people, but I didn't see party names or anything there either.

So what is this big difference in ideology that you people are talking about?

I agree. They are referring to liberal views, not Liberal Party per se.

Also in the second one its says they define "liberal in terms of concern for genetically nonrelated people and support for private resources that help those people".

I don't know whether or not the poster you're addressing was misinformed, but I'm quite sure that the Canadian 'liberal' is very much an ideological subset of the American 'liberal'.
