How normal is it for upper year students to take first year courses?

There were a few upper years in my first year anthro class and I have a few friends (including me) who have/plan on taking first year courses in upper years, its not uncommon, not to mention alot of people realize they have to if they want to minor in something and it requires multiple first year courses in that subject.

Also Econ 1B03 had quite a few upper years i believe.
Hope that helps

Alot of upper years take first year courses, it's totally normal. I was in third year last year taking a first year chem course because it was the first time that it fit into my schedule. Also when I was in second year I took a first year french course because I decided after first year that I felt like doing a minor in french. So ya it happens all the time and almost always for different reasons.

It's definitely normal. I'm going into fifth year and I need a language course to graduate. So, bonjour first year French! I wouldn't recommend taking too many first year courses especially if you want to get into graduate school but you can definitely take one.

I took a first year course in my second year. This year, my third year, I'm actually taking 2 first year courses and a second year course. I need them for professional school :\

Yeah, I've taken 3 first year courses in second year because I needed them for my program and I'll be taking two more for graduate school.

Most of them don't care about the lower years, some of them care about the last year. They want you to take a certain number of courses related to your level of study.

Every grad school is different so you would have to look up information for each one or contact each one.
