First year Nursing and Human Biochem Core Courses at same time!
I am trying to set up a timetable for first year Nursing and it seems that two compulsory courses, 1AA3 Human Biochemistry (HTH SCI) and 1K02 Health & Wellbeing (NURSING) are set to happen in the same time slot according to the Master Timetable. 1AA3 C01 is scheduled to happen from 13:30 to 17:20, and 1K02 C01 is scheduled to happen from 15:30 to 16:20 -- again, these are both compulsory courses, and these are the ONLY times that they are offered.

I contacted the Registrar's Office and they told me "contact the person in your faculty" and gave me a PDF of (all) faculty contacts and signed off "Bye". I contacted the Nursing person, but she is away.

Any help or thoughts?

Thank you!

I asked a second year nursing student on the Nursing 2013 facebook page and he said the same thing happened to last year's students.

Quote:
biochemistry was screwed up last year too. so don't worry if it conflicts. the reason is that we only had to attend core once over the entire week (on the first week) and then there was never any core classes again. we only had to attend tutorials after that.

Hmm. Thank you!

I am still confused.

The core Human Biochem is from 13:30 to 14:20, and the tutorial is scheduled from 13:30 to 17:20, so I do understand that we might get just one core and that it happens in the first week, then it's just tutorials for the remainder of the semester.

The part that I don't get is that the Nursing Health and Wellbeing is right in the middle of that tutorial time, from 15:30 to 16:20.

Human Biochemistry core is from 13:30-14:20 and the tutorial is from 14:30 - 15:20 and then 1k02 is from 15:30-16:20.

Interesting...

The Nursing contact said that they'd get everything sorted out before our registration day (tonight at 12:01am). It seems that they've made two tutorials for 1AA3 (Human Biochem): T01 from 14:30 to 15:20, and T02 from 15:30 to 17:20. Nursing 1K02 remains the same, 15:30 to 16:20.

Still not sure what that all means, but I suppose we'll find out when we're there! :bubble:

Daisy, make sure your registering for your cohort/site. Last yr, 2.30-3.30 slot was for Mac students, and the 3.30-4.30 slot was for Mohawk students. Just search it up in the timetable for which one's which. I know this is late, but if you need any help, just call up the office, or if you need anyone to review your schedule, post it up, and I'll do so : )

Correction: 1.30-3.30 was for McMaster and 3.30-5.30 was for Mohawk. But it really took just one hour for the whole tutorial so we were pretty much out early all the timee !
