The Survey:

What Program are you in? Life Sci

1. What was your High School Average (Top 6 Marks) when entering University? 86

2. How satisfied were you with your marks? 5

3. How prepared for First Year did you feel when you left High School? 5

4. After your First Year experience, how well do you think your High School prepared you now? 2

5. What was your First Year Tem 1 average? 8

6. How satisfied were you with your marks? 3

7. How did you find the transition from grade 12 into First year? 2, because I am in a triple room that's smaller than a double (I wish I was exaggerating)..... living conditions really do affect your marks and your health

8. Please describe why you think your response is the way it is? Oh lol I just did.

9. What skills do you believe would have better prepared you for the university experience? Time management/organization, how to effectively study for exams

10. What advice do you have to give grade 12 students entering university which would help with their transition? Honestly it depends a *lot* on which university and which program they're going into....

11. What did they struggle with most during your adjustment? What essential university sill did you find most difficult to grasp? Struggled not with academics, but rather with basic health and taking care of myself type of thing.... e.g. not sleeping enough, not eating properly. Essential university skill I would say effective studying for exams (like making a study plan, organising the chapters, etc)

12. Would you participate in a program that taught all the aforementioned skills? Now, or when I was in high school?

13. Did you repeat any courses or do you plan on doing so in summer school? If so how many are they and why do you think you are doing so? I am not repeating any courses but I am thinking about taking a course or two in the spring term just to get ahead so I won't have so much to do next year

The Survey:

What Program are you in? Sociology

1. What was your High School Average (Top 6 Marks) when entering University? 88

2. How satisfied were you with your marks? 5

3. How prepared for First Year did you feel when you left High School? 5

4. After your First Year experience, how well do you think your High School prepared you now? 3

5. What was your First Year Tem 1 average? 9

6. How satisfied were you with your marks? 5

7. How did you find the transition from grade 12 into First year? 6

8. Please describe why you think your response is the way it is? The work is not necessarily harder, one just has to put more time into it

9. What skills do you believe would have better prepared you for the university experience? High School should’ve thrown more essays at us. Teach us the ability to work efficiently and still maintain high standards of marks

10. What advice do you have to give grade 12 students entering university which would help with their transition?

They should just realize that its more than just grades. Get a feel for everything, participate in anything that interests you. At the end of the day, youre getting the same degree as another person – so why not make your experience more meaningful

11. What did they struggle with most during your adjustment? What essential university sill did you find most difficult to grasp?

I struggled with ensuring that my readings were done. Time management is something I think is still a work in progress for me

12. Would you participate in a program that taught all the aforementioned skills?

I think its something you have to experience, rather than be taught

13. Did you repeat any courses or do you plan on doing so in summer school? If so how many are they and why do you think you are doing so?

I am not repeating a course
