fixing a book
hey so for one of my courses i had to get this really old and used book ( they were all really old 1970's and used like a billion times b4) and even though ive been careful wiht it it has already come apart at the seams...

does anyone know how i can flix it, right now its in 3 pieces which individually seem to be holding together pretty well,

do you know if the underground can bind it or if the library can fix it somehow, ( i would go see titles from where i bought the book but i highly doubt theyre willing to take it back even though it was already in such a crappy condition when i bought it)

thanks
C

Get a piece of gray duct-tape and place it longitudinally over the spine. That should fix it.

Try glue gunning it. Glue guns are awesome... and slightly dangerous.

That's about all I can think of doing... is it a lighter book? You might be able make your own cover, I did for my poor French dictionary a good ten times, and its still alive... somehow. That thing is amazing.

Here's how to make the covers, construction paper works fine, but it has its limits depending on how heavy the book is. Cardstock/bristol board is better. You can substitute the front and back cover for a few pages, but make sure you wont need them

Definitely check UGD, and maybe Staples or Kinkos. You'd be surprised what they can do, though its probably expensive.

I would try at the library. They might have some tape that you could use for that purpose...does it still have the cover on it or?
