Conditional offers are made to students who meet the official cut-off for the program but who have not yet completed all of the required courses. When you receive your offer of admission it will list all the conditions of the offer quite clearly. Typically you need to:
1. Complete all the required courses for your program
2. Achieve your high school diploma
3. Maintain a minimum final admission average (varies for each program and is clearly stated on the letter) at the end of the school year (i.e. as of end of 2nd semester).
The offer is valid as long as you meet all of the stated conditions and respond to it by the deadline date (May 28, 2009 this year).
We do make conditional offers to students below the cut-off on the hopes that their grades will go up upon receipt of finals.
Hope this helps.
