Yes, I work for them as well.

As for the polos...email Michele because I'm not sure of the status of them exactly at this point.

Summer jobs
I've applied to a couple jobs on OSCAR in early March and I still haven't heard back from any yet. Should I still wait? If I don't get a job this summer, then I will have to apply for summer school and I'm afraid the spots will be filled soon. Some of the jobs that I've applied for, its deadline was March 31st. How much longer usually should I wait for any reply?

I went to the SFAS and they confirmed that I am already eligible for McWork. Did I need to include in my resume that I am eligible? Does that enhance my chances of getting a job?

If I do not get the job, will I receive notification on OSCAR?

Thanks so much!!

Unfortunately, standard job application process is if you're not contacted on the status of your application it means you were not selected to be interviewed. Since the deadline was nearly two weeks ago, you should consider applying to some other jobs.

Applications for some summer jobs are open until July 31, so you can keep trying.

If you don't get OSAP you have to submit a special application for McWork (summer work) that includes your and your parent's 2007 tax assessments. You can't work on campus at all in the fall/winter if you don't get OSAP, according to the person I talked to at SFAS.

Mention you've approved for McWork in one sentance.. it lets the employer know you're eligible even if its not required.. it shows you're in good standing and reliable, etc.

You won't hear back if you didn't get a position.

Apply for as many jobs as you can.

There are a lot of people using OSCAR. Make your submission stand out from all the other people who are applying and apply early as well.

Tailor your submission documents for each individual job.

If you can, and they list it as an option, drop your resume off in person.

Always attach a cover letter, even if they don't require it.

Keep the cover letter to 1 page and resume to 2 pages maximums.

Don't rely just on OSCAR, try out things like the Summer Experience Program: http://www.gojobs.gov.on.ca/JumpStart.asp#Summer.

If you don't get a summer position, don't waste your summer.. use some of your time to study what you've learned already so you're even better at it or get ahead for next term which will undoubtedly be much harder than the last. Getting a really good scholarship from the University for mark is just can be just as good as working.
