I had an eye exam and had reading glasses made for me. In reading through the plan, apparently I found out only half the price of an eye exam was covered (and only up to $40!). However, I decided to just try claiming them anyways, and to my surprise I received a cheque for $125.00. So moral of the story is, no harm in trying..

I was wondering, does the health plan cover getting new glasses or no?

It's not stated in the coverage.

They will cover up to $100 for your glasses. I’ve claimed two times now. The first time I did accidently break my glasses (I couldn’t find my glasses case so I just stuck my glasses in my backpack and my lenses cracked – I’m guessing from the weight of my books). Under how broken, I think I wrote something like “lenses severely cracked”. The other time I just was bored of my glasses and wanted new ones :p. Under how broken, I ended up writing “lost” and surprising I was still given a cheque for $100. I don’t think they actually care how/if your glasses are broken. As long as you have a receipt I’m pretty sure they will send you a cheque for the $100

That's why I was wondering. I've asked around, but haven't really gotten a concrete answer. Is there anyone specifically I should contact perhaps?

for the amount of prescription part, did you write how much your lenses cost or both the lenses and frames?
