Yep, first it was set that you have to get a different card, but it was negotiated, and the final decision was that your mcmaster student card (must have the HSR sticker) would act as your student ID for you to be able to buy/get discounts on tickets and monthly passes.

HOWEVER, if you don't have the HSR sticker on your MacID card for any reason then you have to get a GO ID card by going through the process saukalra mentioned in post #2.

This is amazing. <3 I was putting off that other process for the longest time because I really didn't want to do it, this is much better!

I'm glad I decided to double check the process tonight b/c I was going to drive to McMaster tomorrow and then drive to Union Station on Friday to get all this done. That saves me two needless trips.

Can I buy my GO tickets and the discount tickets using my ID card here in Toronto? Or do I have to get them in Hamilton for it to work?

You should be able to do it anywhere where they sell GO tickets.

You can get them anywhere and use them anytime. But for the single ride ticket, you have to use it within 4 hours of purchase but with the 2 ride ticket or 10-ride pass, you don't have to

It should also be noted that student discounts are only available for monthly passes and 10-ticket rides.

Good to know, Thanks! =]
So, if you want just one ticket, you'd have to pay an adult ticket, true?
