Good Food Box!
The Mac Bread Bin is yet again bringing the Good Food Box to McMaster students. The Good Food Box brings 20Lbs of fresh locally grown Ontario produce right on campus! You can order your Good Food Box for $12 out of the MSU main office (MUSC 201). The price is only $9 if you've ever accessed the Mac Bread Bin service. The GFBs contain things like carrots, onions, celery, potatoes, apples, leafy greens and much more!
All you need to do is head up to the MSU main office, fill out an order form, and leave exact change with the receptionist. You may place an order at any point in time up until 5pm this Friday, October 2nd. You will then be able to pick up your GFB on Tuesday, October 6th in the MSU front office (same place where you placed the order). Pick it up during MSU office hours, which go until 5PM.
If you have any questions or would like further information about the GFB, feel free to contact the Mac Bread Bin service directors at [email protected] .mcmaster.ca.

has anyone got this before?
is it a good deal?
this might sound silly, but do you get good vegetables - or is it just squash and stuff that no one really likes?

Here's a sample of what you mind find in a box:
- apples
- pears
- carrots
- onions
- celery
- potatoes
- sweet potatoes
- garlic
- bell peppers
- leafy greens
- winter squashes.
[I took this directly from the email Mac Bread Bin sent me]
What you get will also depend on what vegetables are in season / available. take this as a great opportunity to try some vegetables you wouldn't normally buy!

I ordered GFBs probably three times last year. They're om nom nomtastic! It's a really good deal and my housemates and I loved getting them. You will definitely polish these off.. Filled with lots of healthy goodness! hooray!
On the topic of local foods, I also recommend this place that's up in flamborough that we went to today - best apples EVER! It's called Myer's farms. Try their honeycrisp apples. They're way beyond om nom nomtastic. And they have a pig named Pearl and goats - CUTE!

It is weird that they did not email you, was your email on the small order form? If you want to be added to the GFB email list just fire off a quick email to [email protected] ter.ca, they will send out an email in a few weeks about next months GFB.
As for advertising the program is still reasonably new, and as such we are still tinkering with the system; once we have a good system in place then the next concern will be advertising. For now we are relying on word of mouth and some limited internet promotion(Mac Insiders). Its great to hear that everyone is happy with their boxes; corn on the cob tonight!

December Good Food Box is available for order this week (Nov. 23 - 27)!!!
order forms will be available at the MSU front desk - MUSC 201 - during regular office hours of 9-5. The deadline for Friday afternoon is 4pm.
PLEASE PAY WITH YOUR ORDER. We will not be placing orders for anyone who has not paid.
Boxes are $12 for students because Grace Lutheran Church subsidizes $3 for students. However, if you can afford to pay the full $15, we encourage you to do so in support of the program. Bread Bin users receive an additional discount, and only need to pay $9.
Pick up will be on Tuesday, December 1 in the MSU Office from 9-5
Also, the Church has needed to purchase bags from Ikea in order to accomodate the orders. They have asked that you place a $1 deposit when you pick up the order to offset the costs. If you bring the Ikea bags back to the office, you get your $1 back.
For questions, comments, suggestions, or even recipe ideas, contact [email protected] ter.ca
