lol ya, resnet is only something like 100 Mb/s download and 20 Mb/s upload as far as I remember.

I saw this a while ago, its very impressive I must admit, though like it was arleady mentioned, don't know if it will get to Canada, the companies will fight really hard to keep them away, if they were to grow their service. Time can only tell...

doesnt Bell already have a "fiber" network set up? Although i doubt they will reach such speeds of Google Fiber.

i was referring to the video posted... ive used the same site (speedtest.net) and got comparable results on resnet


in the vid the downlod rate only went up to 170 (not anywhere near the potential 1000 advertised)... ive seen about 125 at mac

Cool I never knew that, but I assume that is a shared connection with the rest of res? And I am sure that cost well over 200$

Only certain area have fiber set up. That to the majority are set up with fiber to the nodes in your area and then copper to your house. With the fiber to the node you can only get a max of 25Mbps download and 10Mbps download. If your lucky enough to get fiber straight to your house from bell than you could get speeds of 175Mbps down and 175Mbps upload. And it isnt price to badly either for those speeds around 160$ if I am correct.
