Haven't been there for university yet, but I got two tickets to my high school graduation and nobody wanted the second one... my mom went, of course, but neither my father, stepfather or brother had any interest. It kind of made my best friend's parents angry on my behalf, but honestly I get it. It's a long ceremony and the only part that spectators are interested in is the part their with their own kid.

I'm the one that doesn't want to go, and my parents are keen on going.

I completely understand lack of interest.

Pretty much. My parents could care less about the actual ceremony as long as I get the degree

I'm in the same situation. I have no interest in going to a four hour ceremony to get my degree when I can pick it up after.

It's 4 hours long, it's hot, and you're hungry. I went to my first uni graduation but not my second. I don't blame your parents for not wanting to go.
Having said that, if YOU want to, then you should.

I'm in the opposite boat. I have 6 - 8 people who want to go and only two tickets! Is there any way I can get more?

Don't be dickhurt, I'm glad nobody wants to see me get certified as a future Starbucks barrista. I've got another one in a year, I'll also not want to attend that one.

I think the actual ceremony is 2-3 hours. But you have to be there early, line up, get your gown, then reception afterwards, etc. It's long.

Graduation is overrated, you're sitting on a chair for hours listening to people talk while you start to sweat from all the people in the room. A reason why I decided to skip my high school grad.

Your high school graduation must've sucked in comparison to mine then. Fully air-conditioned hall with all the fancy things one could imagine.
