Is guild wars 2 nothing like guild wars 1? I remember briefly playing numba 1, and just remember doing a bunch of instances with little groups of people, this seems like an mmo

Guild Wars 1 was not an MMO. It was a CORPG. Everything except cities and outposts were instanced.

Guild Wars 2 is an entirely different game. It is a true MMO. Of course, it's a sans-250 year continuation of the Guild Wars 1 story, set in the same universe.
