I remember reading something like the first years not seeing the old system at all and debuting with the new system first, and then the other students being moved to it, but I don't know. :/ I realize the move might not be easy, but they shouldn't keep moving the deadline - just give one sufficiently far away and if you manage to finish the project earlier, you get extra credit for being ahead of time.

The move is easy , the politics are horrendous.
That's all I can really say for now

Me too. I re-direct everything to one email anyway, so it doesn't really make a difference to me. It just sucks that it's taking so long for them to make the switch.

Agreed, that's the most annoying part. I believe we were originally told it would be switched over "by Reading Week 2011".

Indeed, it was supposed to be by then. That's when I picked up an issue of the Silhouette or something and there was something by MDL that said that it was supposed to be implemented by the end of Reading Week, but then they were testing things out and the new date was May 30. Then they changed that to (probably) around beginning of September or something, I believe.

Every time we ask about the switch date, McMaster delays it another 3 months.

From the last communication from the University it's slated to be started in September. The actual implementation doesn't take more then a few days or a week it's the legal hassling that has taken this project such a long time, McMaster's purchasing department lawyer's and Google are going back and forth about legal issues and the last I heard there was one last issue with a provincial privacy law. If McMaster was situated in USA this project would have been implemented well before Reading Week even, however the legislation and Government and University bureaucracy is much more complex in Canada.
But September does seem to be a very plausible start up date and makes sense given the start of the academic year as opposed to the summer.
And Noor this system isn't going to cost you or McMaster much of anything, the actual service is free of charge and it'll only cost the University a comparatively small amount of money to switch over
