Has anyone taken physics 1B03? I need some advice, would be more helpful if u took it more recently.

Anyways so yeah i decided to take physics 1b03 OVER SUMMER and i was wondering how hard of a course is it? because I have some personal issues that i finally ended up going to a counsellor to talk about but the thing is so far ive only had one session (which was like 4 weks ago) and the next one is coming up so as you can tell its a VEEEEEEEEERY slow process :/ and so everything is driving me insane.

So yeah i dont know if i should take physics 1b03 or not because im finding it very difficult to motivated myself (which i also found hard to do all year). So would it be a good idea to take it over summer or not? because i would think it would be to get it out of the way and so i can "focus" more on it but i dont know if ill be able to with all these issues. And todays the last day to decide if i wanna drop it or not! (w/o financial penalty)

It's a bird course. You'll be absolutely fine.

I didnt take it over the summer but i took the course last semester with Dr. Nejat. It was definitely not an easy course, at least for me. It might vary on how good you are at physics, but this course was more challenging any other first year life science courses for me. But its not impossible either. I didnt do at all well in the midterm but pulled in the long hours before the exam and i am quite satisfied with the final mark. In hindsight, it would have been a smart choice to take this in the summer because i could have just focused on physics but you have to remember this course requires quite a bit of work, so if you are confident you can give your best, it would be a great course to be done with but if you are not, it could get overwhelming

Taking it over the summer may be better because you could give it more time, and to be honest, if physics is not one of your strong suits, then you'll need to give it lots. Depends whether or nto it is a requirement for you though, if you just need a credit in physics, look into prereqs and stuff and see if the easier one Physics 1L03 will be sufficient

i took physics 1l03 and is was pretty easy as i took it in gr 12. Thing is if i do the work i can prob pull through well but the thing im afraid of is if i dont and cant get myself to :/. I also have Nejat i think... and lol Bird course? O_o

Honestly, if you really need to take the course, then I guess you just need to pull it together. I know it's often hard to motivate yourself, but I'm sure you could do well if you really gave it your all

Also, Nejat's pretty good, but it all comes down to you, and whether you're willing to put in the effort.. but between the fall/winter term and now, I would recommend taking it now.

It's a tough course and if you don't have a natural ability in physics, it'll require some effort. It might seem like a lot of review but don't underestimate the problem solving they'll throw at you in the course!
