Have Your Voice Heard
By Danielle Lorenz
As a McMaster student, you should be aware of what is occurring on your campus. It is your home (or home away from home), and will be until you graduate. As a result, anything that may influence you, or impact you in any way should be important to you.
A motion is being brought to the Hamilton City Council this Wednesday September 26th. The motion would require all truck traffic that pertains to McMaster (deliveries, construction and the like) to enter at the Main Street entrance (near the Psychology Building and Health Sciences Building), and proceed down University Avenue through the centre of campus. This means that there will be large trucks traveling through pedestrian areas at Mac. Not only will this clog the entrance to the hospital, but it will put the safety of students, faculty and staff in jeopardy.
What can you do about this issue? Two things, the first is to sign the petition that MSU President, Ryan Moran has set up. The URL is available here:
http://www.msu.mcmaster.ca/bod/form.php. In addition, if you have questions you can contact Moran via email at
[email protected] ca . The more people that sign the petition the better it will turn out for everyone at Mac. Secondly, you can go to the City Council Meeting, which takes place on Wednesday September 26th at the Hamilton Convention Centre at 7pm. Thirdly, you can inform people via Facebook about what is going on.
There is a Facebook group devoted to the issue as well. You can check it out here:

Invite all your friends!
So please, make your voice heard on this issue! At the very least sign the petition!
