Health Science (2009)
Health Sci Supa Fly!!

Although you are in a smaller program than most, there are still plenty of upper year Health Sci students you can consult with on MacInsiders!

Use MacInsiders to introduce yourself to the other 159 people in your program!

Incoming students will be able to celebrate the Ten Year Anniversary of Health Sci, which starts in January 2010. You can find more info about that here. They will have cake on January 20th!!

More info
about B.Hsc:

The Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours) Program (B.H.Sc.) uses a unique interdisciplinary approach to the study of health, wellness and illness. It offers students an understanding of health from biological, behavioural and population-based perspectives, through the integration of foundation and health sciences.

Hey I have a question about Health Science. I didn't apply for it because I heard you needed a lot of volunteer hours which was a bad call I should have still. I know they get you in depending on how good your answers were to the supplementary application. Anyways does anyone know how easy or likely it is to switch from a program say like Life Science into Health Science for 2nd year. What do you need to do exactly?

You just apply and fill out the supplementary application form, just like if you were going to first year. You should try to shadow the program (meaning taking the same courses) I say "try" because some you probably won't be able to get into all the courses (prerequisite problems).

I think there are around 20 spot for transfers in second year. So you'll have to do very well academically and it wouldn't hurt to do some extracurriculars/volunteering.

As far as volunteering goes...I heard that polishing trailer hitches goes a long way.

Thanks!

It's not released till December, so you have plenty of time to do it between december and the due date in February.

I know! I was in that same position last year, grade 12 is tough, but tons of people went through it, and you will too. Just do your best and wait till the application is released!
And you're very welcome =]

Speaking of Joseph... I don't think it's his real name. He's not on the class list for Health Sci '13s.

Oh really =/ weird. If you see in his signature though, it says Joseph and his full name, so I think it IS his full name
