And make sure you check out the minor requirements because some minors have specific courses you have to take.

This depends on the faculty I believe, I was trying to do a Kin major with Math and Physics double minors, but they wouldn't let me. (Ultimately, I switched into math anyway haha).

At any rate, it seems like if you had the drive to complete two minors you should seek a second major.

I also thought it's worth mentioning that minors (and majors for that matter) do not show up on your diploma. It simply has your degree name.

I thought the whole point of declaring a minor was that it'd show up on your degree!

Is that because Math's Minor is 27 units?

Also that's why its awesome that Kin students graduate with a BSc. Kin. not a BSc. with a Kinesiology major.

I'm pretty sure it's 24 units per minor, last time I asked anyway =/

For engineering, is management, society and international the only minors you can get?

Could you minor in like astronomy or physics?

This information is correct for the Humanities Dept.:

You can do a major and a double minor OR a double major and single minor. You can do more than one minor but then you'd have to take extra courses. A minor is 24 units.

For a BA you need 90 units of a single subject and you're allowed up to 42 units of level 1 courses.

For a honours BA degree you need 120 units of a single subject and you're allowed 48 units of level 1 courses.

You need 6 units in your desired course from first year in your desired subject with a Cumulative Average of at least 5 and a grade of at least 5 in the discipline course. Also, the discipline course is an average of 5 between the 2 courses.

You can potentially perform a 2nd BA in one extra year and a second honours BA in two years.

Also, know that if you finish with 2 hoours progams (ie. a double honours major) it is one degree. This is important; I didn't know this and appaently a lot of 4th year students make this mistake thinking they're coming out with two degrees but it is only one degree!

I hope this helps out people in humanities!

Why would you minor in physics when you can get a degree in engineering physics ? Then, you can get a PhD in astronomy.

No, I was clear to fulfill the requirements of both majors (I was in third year at the time with my fourth year planned out). Not sure why they didn't like it.

That is awesome though, bothers me that I would've had no evidence that I'd even been in kinesiology on my diploma. Glad they changed that.

Society, International Studies and Management aren't minors in and of themselves.. they're like 'streams' within the engineering program, that extend your degree to 5 years and you have to take some specific courses for each stream. I'm not sure if you can do a minor with management because there are a lot of require courses each year, but you can get a minor in pretty much whatever you want with Society because you get 18 units of electives, throughout your degree.

If that didn't make any sense, let me put it this way: if you decide to do Management/Society/International studies, your degree won't say (for example) Engineering Physics, minor in Society or B.Eng minor in Society. It will say Engineering Physics and Society minor in XXX, or B.Eng & Society, minor in XXX.

And yeah, you can minor in almost anything you want as long as it's approved by the department the minor is offered in, and you have all the required courses. Keep in mind that some minors may need you to overload on courses for a few semesters or take summer classes though.
