I'm not living in Hedden next year, but I'll be in 434 whenever I don't wanna make the 10 minute walk from campus to my house and in between classes so I'll probably meet a decent batch of you guys

The Mac Housing website says that Hedden has 6 floors, but the dude that wrote [email protected] said there's 5. He lived in Hedden, so either he's incredibly ignorant or the university doesn't even know its own buildings. Both cases scare me. So which is it? (I see myself writing a strongly worded letter to the mistaken party, although it really doesn't matter because I'm on fourth.)

There are 5 floors in which people live in (i.e. dorm rooms). Then there is a basement which has a bunch of random rooms like studies and common rooms and there is the "6th" floor which is actually roof access - You need a key to access it though.
McMaster probably counts the basement as a floor, but the person you are talking about most likely does not count the basement as a floor.

You'll have an awesome view of Cootes Paradise from your window, IMO it was the best view I ever had. Whenever I would look out I would see a family of deer, it was really neat. It was so nice looking out there, I'll miss it for sure.
Also a plus, Hedden Hall has individual bathrooms scattered around the wing in lieu of one single large one. It was nice because it was like essentially having your own washroom that you didn't have to clean XD
My room was also huge! It was much bigger than the one in the picture on McMaster's website - I had a ton of room to walk around.
Enjoy Hedden guys, you'll have a blast.
awesome!!! thnx

I lived in 125 last year. It is an awesome residence and you will have a great time. The only problem about Hedden is that each floor is split into two wings where the people in each wing pretty much hung out with each other making it feel like 10 floors or something. Only thing I didn't like about it.

I'm in a single on the 4th floor too!
I've heard they're not too big :(....oh well it's a comparatively newer building, so that's good!

I'm not sure who you guys have been talking to, but the singles in hedden are some of the biggest normal students can get (outside of a few singles in first floor Whidden that are almost the size of doubles).

The only bigger single rooms that I can think of would be the rooms of the CAs in Matthews and McKay (which are technically doubles, but CAs are guaranteed single rooms).

You guys should definitely be ok with your room size, and if you aren't, find someone in Woodstock with a single, you'll feel a whole lot better about the size of your room after seeing theirs

Haha my friend who lived in Hedden first year told me this...but I guess she hasn't seen any other single rooms in other residences!

Thanks for clearing that up

North or south does not really dictate what view you'll see, it just depends on what side of the floor you are on.
You'll either have a view of Cootes Paradise, which is really nice to look at, or you'll be facing the football field - and because you're on the 5th floor you'll have an excellent view of it, which is nice in the beginning of the year because you could essentially watch all sporting events at McMaster for free and in the comfort of your own room.
The only downside of having a view of the football field is that all the walking areas/parking lots are there, therefore a lot of foot traffic - which means you'll probably have your blind shut unless you want people staring into your room when you least suspect it.
