I was wondering if I HAVE to rent a mini-fridge from the company listed on McMaster's website (some sort of new policy), or if I can can just buy one from Wal-Mart with the same dimensions? I don't see the reason for renting a mini-fridge for $125(or whatever the cost) instead of buying one for a similar price and re-using it.

Yes, you have to rent one from Coldex, you can't bring your own any more. They just started this rule starting Sept 2011.

Effective September 2011 students will not be permitted to bring personal refrigerators into the residence buildings.
You (and your roommate) may rent a small fridge from Coldex. The cost of an 8-month lease from Coldex ranges from $100 to $115, plus a $25 refundable cleaning deposit. The fridge is delivered to your room and picked up after you move out in April.

What's the layout like for a triple room? Is there one single bed and a bunk? or is it 3 single beds?

FATIMA you're in my room from last year! Don't be alarmed if I come visit during Welcome Week to meet you and your roomie... gotta make sure that room's in good hands. You will have the best time, Hedden is easily the best residence on campus
