Help with firefox!
Hi can someone please tell me what I did!?

When I go to firefox it says:
# The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
moments.
# If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
connection.
# If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

How do i change my settings? All of my other browsers are working!

Thanks alot!

Hmm could be a few problems but what I imagine are the most likely are:

1) You could be in offline mode for firefox. It's under Web developer in the FF beta and under File I believe for the stable version

2) You anti-viral software/firewall has blocked firefox, check the blocked programs list..\

Or you could just re-install FF. I suggest getting the Beta, I'm really liking it so far.

Sounds like you restricted network access to firefox or something, check your antivirus/firewall settings, and go allowed programs, and either remove firefox from the restrictions, or add it to the accepted list.

Either way, uninstalling and installing again might work if you can't figure the above out.

check ur connection settings in the options menu.... compare to your working browser and make sure theyre the same

ps. sometimes my malwarebytes blocks firefox from accessing certain 'harmful' sites.. so if u have that.. or a similar anti-virus/malware prog try disabling the block website function

It varies for anti-viral software so I can't help you there.

as for your firewall:
Start menu -> control panel ->Windows Firewall (possibly under internet option if your control panel is set to classic mode)
in your firewall check the inbound and outbound rules and make sure it isn't blocking FF

I'd just reinstall FF if I were you. It'll probably fix it and saves you the troubleshooting

Thanks! When I go it says: the settings are being managed by vendor application McAfee. But when I go to McAfee it needs to go onto the internet and its set to firefox...which obviously doesnt work. I dont really wanna delete this one cause I have all my bookmarks on it for math and stuff! aahhhh

When you run the installer for firefox it checks for your old firefox data and carries over your bookmarks, browsing history, add-ons(although some might be incompatible with the neweest FF version) so don't worry too much about it! Go ahead and reinstall~

Good to hear!

I'd probably still suggest installing the new FF beta anyway. It's Fabulous~ Frees up more of your screen for actually displaying webpages than the previous versions did.
