You'd be better off in biochem if you want to learn stuff that you will use in med school.
Yes, chemistry is important, but there's enough to learn in medicine without adding chemistry into it. Like, you do something like Henderson-Hasselbalch in med school and that's considered a lot of chemistry.
Chemistry is a great program that would benefit you even if you chose med school, but in that case it would benefit you more in terms of work ethic than content. If you don't actually enjoy the program, you won't last long in it.
Edit: A lot of people in chembio have gone on to med school and they have found the program to be beneficial in terms of both content and study habits...but it's the bio/biochem content that overlaps.
