i would personally go with life sci, because of the flexibility - you're not "forced" to take any courses - you totally get to customize your degree - and you can sill take mol bio, biochem courses, although some courses are only open to people of that program.
There are some courses you are forced to take.

Also, this can be a problem, since many of the courses you want to take might be full. You're not guaranteed a seat in any course, so you can get stuck with ones you don't want to take.

Depending on the biochem/mol bio courses you want to take, some are available to bio students but not life sci. I don't know if there are non-life sci courses that are open to students in life sci but not bio.
