Horizon Utilities Question
Hey,

I'm reconnecting the water/electricity for my place tomorrow and when I called them they said that I need to be at the house at a certain time and pay the person part of the security deposit of 73 bucks, the suspicious thing is that the last I did this I didn't have to do any of this, and I was just billed the security deposit, so does anybody have to do this? Thanks. Just making sure that I'm not being fooled or anything.

my experience is that if you're a first-time customer they want the whole security deposit up front. subsequent hookups can be partial payments. if you feel like they aren't being honest - first of all, get proof of service and payment (detailed description of what was done and how much you paid). furthermore, if you want, you can call horizon utilities while the worker is there to confirm what is taking place.

I remember last year when I first moved in I also had to pay a deposit up front after reconnecting.

Although I remember it being a lot higher than 73 bucks... |:

Yes that is what happen you pay the security deposit to the technician no cash either cheque or money order, then after a year if u pay ur bill ontime u get credited back the money onto ur acct... thats how it worked for me..
