Horrible Download Speeds
Is it just me, or is the download speed horrible on campus during the day? I tried multiple different techniques, including using a rapidshare premium account and I still could not get a speed higher than 50kb/s. Is this just due to the huge amount of users using the internet during the day or is it always this bad?? Is there any spot on campus or a particular time when download speeds are actually good??

Try either very late at night or very early in the morning.

The routers automatically throttle traffic if there are too many users connected to prevent one user from taking all the bandwidth.

I don't bring my laptop much to school anymore but I remember in first year I would get awesome speeds in MDCL (the biggest lecture hall) even during classes. Another good spot was ITB.

I dislike it because my lecture notes (roughly 7MB) take, what seems like, forever to download.

There's a big search box in the top right of each page on Macinsiders.

Search till you drop!
