Slow LAN Speeds for DC++
Greetings macinsiders, my very first thread here shall be one calling for help. I feel that I am a tech-savvy individual and installing DC++ was one of the first things I did when arriving at Mac. (Unrestricted, ethernet-speed p2p?? It's like Christmas!). Unfortunately over the last week I've found that I can't reach the legendary 10MBps down or up from my wired connection in my room. Instead, my bandwidth will only peak at ~1MBps (either way).

After looking through other posts I couldn't find anyone with this problem. If it has been posted and I missed it, I apologize.

To my knowledge, no firewall on my machine is blocking DC++ or any of its ports, and I don't feel that this is limited to downloading from a select slow users as my upload speed is crippled also.

I am in Les Prince on the sixth floor, but I find that my neighbours are still getting good speeds. Perhaps there's a setting in either windows (I'm using Vista) or the client itself that I've overlooked?

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

could be the file, number of users, the person you're downloading might have limited their upload speed. Under settings there's an option for Line Speed, you can try changing that.

1MBps is still very fast.
