get tickets from compass or use presto.

Nope. Not as of today. Undergrad stickers are only valid Sept1-Apr30.

I know you can get a HSR summer pass, for 200 something, which is much cheaper than using tickets every day.

But im not sure if you need to be taking a course during summer or not

i believe you have to show them the summer school sticker to be able to purchase a pass from compass.

what if your taking summer school? Will the university mail a summer school sticker (green sticker) and how long does it take?

You have to confirm your payment agreement and you'll get the sticker in the mail in a few days.
