Indie band anyone?
G'day,
I am going to be a first year student at McMaster in September. While I will be spending an immense amount of time studying, I have realized how important and fulfilling playing music is to me, and feel it should continue even through my brutal studies.
If anybody is interested in collaborating, I play guitar, can play newbie banjo, and wouldn't mind doing back-up vocals. I am very interested in playing music like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Modest Mouse, Minus the Bear, Rilo Kiley and other similar bands. But I would love to do anything really.
If there are any Music students here, or others with musical talent who want to give a new band in a new place a shot, tell me what you are in to and what you can contribute!

I'm definitely interested. Been looking for a band for a while now. I listen to Tokyo Police Club, MGMT, Metric, Kings of Leon, Vampire Weekend and the likes. I play drums by the way!

All you need is a bassist now and you've got yourself a band. Perhaps a keyboardist too depending on the type of music you want to play.

Hey sorry about the delay in replying. Been away for a while (: Anyways, unfortunately I don't have any videos but I'm not the fastest drummer around but I can keep good time (in my own opinion anyways ).

well, imo timing and paying attention to those around you are the most important things. as far as speed, it might not even become an issue, and im sure you would get better anyway. one thing: do you have a place to set up a band around your drum kit, or do you have one at all? or one that fits in a backpack? :S

Awesome
I'd def wanna chill with some of Mac's music scene. Keep us posted, even though the school year might start to get crazy soon. My influences are more powerpop-ish. (ie., Hey Monday, This Providence, FOB, The Academy Is..., All Time Low) piano, guitar, vocals [sorta]).

Yup! I have a drum set! (: I'm also living on Bates this year so we can probably play there! I won't be bringing it first thing though, I want to settle down first (:
