Indigenous Studies & MFNSA Film Night: Five Ring Circus

As part of the Indigenous Studies Film Series, the Indigenous Studies Department and the McMaster First Nations Student Association (MFNSA) will be showing:

5 Ring Circus: The True Cost of the Olympic Games, followed by a discussion lead by Indigenous Studies professor Hayden King on the potential impacts of the Vancouver 2010 games on First Nations.

Synopsis: While the film was produced more than three years ago, it
effectively articulates a side of the story not often discussed. The
producers examine how commitments to environmental, social and
economic sustainability have not been kept and how the preparations for
the Olympic games are adversely affecting communities, the poor and
First Nations.
