Information about other universities
Hey so I'm thinking of doing a second degree at a different school and I wanted to hear from other people what other universities were like.

How difficult were they?
What did you take?
What were professors like?
And how do they compare to McMaster?

Also do other universities have a website that is like macinsiders?

You might want to be more specific. There's over 20 "other schools" in Ontario alone. What field/degree do you plan on pursuing?

I'm not looking for any specific program though. I just want to hear what other people's experiences were at other universities and how it compares to mcmaster.

But it will obviously differ depending on what program you're interested in. Even at McMaster, I guarantee you that a Health Science student's experience will be vastly different from an Engineering student's, which would also be different from a Business student's, etc.

In addition, every prof is different. You can't just say "the profs at X University were all good". It will always be "some were good, some were bad, some were okay."

For what it's worth, I'm doing summer school at UTSC right now and hating it. Very unorganized. I had to jump threw many hoops just to get registered.

barclayyy says thanks to Quiver for this post.

I see your point. I was just thinking in a broad sense but i guess you're right that I'm probably going to get a random assortment of answers. I just wanted to try to do some research before I made my decision on where to go.

waterloo is full of minorities and people like sheldon cooper. go there if you hate fun but love science and math.

ut is also like waterloo except its a commuter school. if you are autistic, go there - everyone on your floor in your res will also be. its so quiet you can hear a pin drop.

western is in london (fundon) so go here if you like parties, drugs, and are studying medicine or business.

wildfred laurier is like western but not as acclaimed.

ryerson isn't really a university.

neither is brock.

britb, Craigolas like this.

LOL

To the OP,

Waterloo for Math/Engineering
Western for Business
U of T for almost everything

Everything else is waste of time and money. Also, Waterloo and U of T have excellent "brand value", as in recognized all over the world and among biggies like Google/Amazon.
