Internet to be shared among 8 people
Hey,
I am living off campus this year and will be living with 7 other people. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to which internet company plans will be the most suitable for the 8 of us. Im looking for a pretty high speed internet for when if a housemate play games online, it wont slow the internet down (too much) for everyone else. Also, preferably a plan that has no contract since we will only be using the service for 8 months. Not too picky about price, just something reasonable.
Thanks in advance!

Teksavvy was normal in speed shared between 6 people. For some reason it was faster than the bell Sympatico I have at home shared between 3 people. They also don't have contracts. Within the 6 people we had 1 medium downloader/torrenter (~50Gigs/mth), 1 heavy downloader (100-150Gigs/mth) and 1 medium online gamer.

Check if Teksavvy cable is available where you're at. If it isn't, get teksavvy's new higher tier DSL service (like 12 Mb/s).
You will never have speed problems nor problems with maxing out your bandwidth cap again.

I echo the recommendations for Teksavvy. We have it at our house (7 people). The speed is fine, and we never have to worry about maxing out bandwidth.
But yeah, check if you can get it in your area.

I was gonna say: Cogeco is your only place for speed, but unfortuantely doesn't cater to a large crowd of even 6 people... But then Own. mentioned the Teksavvy higher speed DSL... I have the 5Mbps connection now, and I'm happy with it, amongst 4 people, but that 12 and 25 are BRAND new! I'm pumped! #$%^ YOU COGECO! SUCK IT!
