Of course, you should get to know your roommate before moving the wardrobes because if you don't get along then you'll want to see as little of them as possible.
I've heard this from a lot of other people! How exactly do you rearrange the room so that it looks more spacious? The wardrobes are in the middle and have doors on both sides, so it isn't possible to put it against one wall... My roommate and I have been friends for a long time and we won't mind seeing each other often. We're in 249, the orange floor

I'm pretty sure the wardrobes only open on one side. You basically have 2 wardrobes in the middle, one faces one side of the room while the other faces the opposite side of the room. You can place them against the walls and put the beds toe to toe.

I haven't seen this rearrangement so I'm not sure if it'll work, but you can leave the bed were it is, move the wardrobes to where the desks are and more the desks against the wall between your beds. The reason why I'm not sure if it'll work is because I don't know if you can fit two desks side-by-side there... Half the side of your bed will also probably be blocked by the desk...

You could also move the wardrobes against the wall between the beds, but that might block the window.

There are lots of ways of rearranging your room. The wardrobes don't have doors on both sides, they're just arranged back-to-back so that each person has theirs facing them. My two friends in LP rearranged their room every other month or so, because they'd get bored. One of their longest-running setups was having one bed along the wall perpendicular to the window with the other bed along the same wall as the window. The bed perpendicular had the desk at the foot, and the wardrobe along the wall opposite the window. The bed along the window wall had the wardrobe about a foot away from the head of the bed along the perpendicular wall, with the desk next to it along the same wall. They tended to use the open space in the middle for whatever table they could get their hands on, and use it for drinking games

I did in my room, but it might depend how close you are to the common rooms--all of the common rooms/study rooms have wifi. I don't know if it extended all the way through the building though, but if you're relatively close to the common rooms/study rooms then you will have it for sure.

Fun fact: The virtual tour of the Les Prince double room on the McMaster website is my room from first year! I highly suggest this layout, as it gives you lots of space. (This is difficult to see in the tour, though, as the camera was in the middle of that space). We were also on the 'forest' side of the building, so with both windows open and no wardrobes in the way, the view was absoultely gorgeous.

Thanks- that's my Eiffel Tower you were looking at. Forgive me for the N on the wall, my decorating skills have improved slightly since first year!
