Most likely.
It's a good programme, if you're into that sort of thing.

As you are probably aware, the anticipated cutoff is "high 80s".

That's really the only solid information you're going to get. The cutoffs aren't predetermined, they depend on the number of applicants and the GPAs of those applicants, relative to the number of spots available. That's why it changes every year.

87 is "high 80s" so it sounds like it's around where they think the cutoff might be.

It doesn't really matter anyways, just get the best grades you can.

Telling you that 87 is good enough is doing you a huge disservice, not only because nobody knows for sure (and therefore anyone who says that is lying), but because you should aim as high as possible and not be complacent/stop working as hard just because you think you're good to go.

And then, if you work as hard as you can and get the highest grades you could, there's nothing that you could have done differently/better, so it doesn't matter what the cutoff is; even if you're below it, knowing that ahead of time wouldn't have made a difference. I hope that makes sense.

87 should be good! A few of my friends got in this past year with a few points lower than this as well!

Just because people got in last year with lower averages, that doesn't mean the average will be okay this year.

Last year's cutoff has absolutely nothing to do with this year's cutoff; it's just used to determine the approximate range that they post on their website.
