Life Sciences Course Selection Questions
Hi, I'm kinda conflicted on what math and physics courses to take. Is it better to take Math 1A03 or 1LS3? Should I also take 1AA3 as well? As for physics, I'm wondering if I should take Physics 1BB3 in addition to 1B03. Some advice would be most appreciated.

There are tons of threads on this stuff But If you like math/plan to continue with math then do 1AO3. As for physics, some medical schools require you to have a year of physics so at some point and time you will need to do 1BB3 if thats your plan, however you can always do that in summer school/second year or something like that.

Yea, Physics 1BB3 is only recommended of one of the Level 2 programs I'm considering (Chemical Biology) but not a requirement. If I do chose Chemical Biology how important would it be?

I can't say because I'm not in the program myself but Chem Bio was one of the options I was considering as well and I didn't take PHYSICS 1BB3.

I also have a friend going into the program who didn't take it.

For chem, a good knowledge of physics can be helpful in understanding but I wouldn't say it's necessary to do well.

I'm going into chem bio, and I took 1BB3 solely because it is recommended. (It's also recommended for another program I was considering, but I forget which.) The chem advisor told me that, for the most part, taking the recommended courses is always better than not taking them, and that if I have elective space I should take them. On the other hand, I don't think that it will be totally devastating if you don't take it since it's not a prereq.
