i took linguistics in my first year. it wasn't difficult. you do have to do your homework etc. to understand and do well, but it's not overly hard either. the work load was decent, nothing too much.

when i took it, we had quizzes (we were allowed to drop the lowest mark), homework assignments to hand in (these came out of the work book which comes with the text), a midterm and an exam.

if dr. moro is teaching, i would recommend taking it.

It's fairly easy, as long as you do the homework and go to lectures. You can easily get a 12. However, ling 1aa3 is harder.

I've heard that the class isn't hard if you pay attention in lecture.

Added it to our compiled list:

It's the scientific study of language. More info here: http://registrar.mcmaster.ca /CALEN...7/crs_1534.htm from the course description.
