Where to live next year? (single bedroom)
So here is the deal: my parents are not allowing me to have a roommate (whatever) and I need a place to live for next year.
I've been using the McMaster off-campus housing site and some searching of my own, but I cannot find any 1 bedroom apartments whatsoever where I can live. Am I going to have to drive throughout Hamilton to find a place to live? :S
Anyone know of any places around Mac? Any suggestions are fine
Thanks everyone!

Your parents' strict rules are impeding on your studies and costing you(or them) money. What is wrong with having room/house mates. You will find that most places near MAC are not bachelor apartments.

Living on your own wins pretty much. Gets lonely sometimes but then at the same time you can live by your own rules and not have to take into consideration others in the same household. You could check out the main and whitney area, that's where I live and it's nice.

I know, but I've debated this to death with them already and I'd rather not do the same here.
So please, any suggestions at all are appreciated

If you have a car (or don't mind taking the bus) you can scout out much nicer (and cheaper) areas too. As you search further and further away from campus, you will find much cheaper and better quality housing. (Plenty of single apartments!)

If your parents really don't want you to have roommates/housemates, why don't you just get a single room residence. If you do find a 1-bedroom apartment, it's likely to be a bit further as well as expensive, and living on campus might actually be cheaper in this case as well as more convenient.

My bachelors apartment (living room+kitchen+bathroom ) is like 3x the size of a res room and it comes out to being just about the same price as res when you factor in food (vs. res+meal plan)

Wanna make out?
I think that would just tip the win right over the edge.

Well, there's no guarantee that I will get a single room at residence. I could end up in a triple with 2 first year students lol.
