Losing interest
There are so many students who are good at studies in childhood and lose the interest when they grown up. I don't understand the reason why this is happening?

Maybe they realize there's no end to it, or maybe they realize there's so much more than just academics in life, maybe they're tired of the same damn routine that they've been tied to for 20 or so years, maybe they understand that there are better ways to accomplish what they want in life

Some fall to temptation and develop bad habits, lose all incentive to work and stop trying, some just can't focus the way they used to, find it much harder and rather than persisting, they desist.

Some people even become sidetracked and let others influence their choices or opinions on certain things, which many times is the case

For many kids, it goes from being something easy to something they have to work harder at, and they don't like how much work it ends up being. When it's something they find easy that they're good at without trying, they tend to enjoy it much more.

Some kids also get worn down by the busy-work that you have to do in school.

Kudos likes this.

Additionally, not everybody is necessarily fond of higher education - some individuals may be happier with different life paths such as choosing family over their career or perhaps prefer a much more applied education or a career in the trades.

Furthermore, being "good at studies" can vary depending on how you define good. If you're referring to grades, they tend to be a lot more inflated in younger years (elementary to high school) than they do in university and so people may not be as strong in a particular field as they are led to believe by their earlier grades.

It's because school is boring and most people are aware that sitting around reading textbooks is a pretty lame life.
