Ok, well:
****SPOILER ALERT******
So, theories:
-Richard possibly came to the island on the Black Rock. We know it was a slave ship, and that Locke/Smoke Monster/Man In Black said something along the lines of "Nice to see you without those chains.
-The alternate dimension is going to mirror the events of the island. So we're going to see things like Locke being able to walk again. This is either because of the "you can't change fate" thing, or because the two universes are connected somehow.
-Juliet and Sawyer still end up married in the alternate dimension.
-Kate ends up taking care of Claire's child in the alternate dimension, and Kate will assist with the birth.
-Jacob and the Man in Black are facing off with each other, and now MIB has Locke's body/form. I'm thinking Jacob will end up with Jack's by the end of the season, to continue the way Locke and Jack were antagonists.
-My friend has this whole theory with Jacob and MIB being different Egyptian gods, but I don't know enough about it to explain it, lol.

******SPOILER ALERT******
My (very few) theories:
-Smoke monster is Esau, from the bible - Jacob's brother. Esau was the 'wicked child' of Isaac, and Jacob stole his father's blessing, which Esau was technically privy to, being the first born. Hence, Esau's anger in Jacob's direction.
-Richard is another biblical character, who has taken over someone else's body (hence Richard's never appearing to age). Perhaps Isaac?
-Christian Shepherd (Jack's dad), was never alive on the island - his body was taken over by yet another biblical character, likely Esau. Hence his desire to push events such that Ben would be back on the island to kill Jacob.

There's also a lot of arguments for one of the characters being a Christ figure. I would say the most for Jacob, but I guess that wouldn't fit with your theory. But he accepted his death, was betrayed by a supporter, and appeared to a disciple after his death. He'll quite possibly rise again, if that follows (on the third episode :p).
I was also getting that a lot from Sayid though. When they were carrying his body it was very cross like, and he did rise from the dead.

I can't wait to watch it ALL again this summer when everything *HOPEFULLY* makes sense. I think no matter what it will take a second time through to really appreciate everything.

I think that temple is where they keep the cliches. I was especially laughing at the John Lennon hippy guy.

My roommate made a comment about that when it was happening. I said something like "yeah, they take the one muslim guy on the show and make him a christ figure. That's not gonna piss anyone off".
I dont think he was ever dead though. Miles (who communicates with the dead) could never hear anything from him.

Myles has to try to use his abilities though, I don't think he ever attempted it. Besides, they said "your friend is dead" outright. :p

Actually, watch it again. There's a part where Miles has a bit of a look of shock on his face, and Jack asks him what's wrong, and he brushes it off, saying nothing.
