Mac for Medicare aims to promote the maintenance and improvement of Canada’s public healthcare system, since medicare is the safest, most equitable and most efficient option for Canadians. Mac for Medicare’s purpose is to support the re-shaping of the healthcare system within the public framework of medicare, without shifting to a two-tiered (“parallel private”) system. Our goal is to encourage the McMaster student body to play an active role in learning about medicare and assisting with its necessary modification.
Our theme this year is barriers to accessing health care. We are going to be exploring why these barriers exist and what steps can be taken to remove them. We will post all guest speaker events here, so please check this page frequently!
