Mac Work Summer Program
Just wondering the summer work program application form opens up tomorow, I was wondering if you sign up through mugsi or oscarplus. Or do you need to do both?

I believe you sign in through Mugsi. You upload it to oscar and attach it.

If you are not automatically approved then you need to print off the forms from MUGSI and submit them to SFAS (I think it's SFAS...it has specifics on whatever website comes up when you google McWork).

You don't need to do anything on OSCARPlus other than apply for jobs, unless things have changed. There are some employers that require you to be approved for McWork because that's the only way they'll have the funding to pay you. There never used to be a mechanism though that prevents people not approved from applying to these jobs...it was just pointless to waste your time because they wouldn't be able to pay anyone not approved.

Adding on, you just need it approved. Some profs may require you to attach it with your application.

On OSCARplus, how exactly do you find the jobs specifically posted for this program? The email says instructions will be posted on oscarplus but I can't find anything about the McWork program...

I believe any job that's on campus qualifies for the McWork program
try this http://sfas.mcmaster.ca/work_study/jobs.html

No, that's not actually true...on OSCARPlus there's a tab that says "WORKSTUDY". You click search jobs or whatever (big red button) and it lets you filter by term (summer or fall/winter) and a bunch of other criteria.

The ones for the summer are there now...and it states right on OSCARPlus that for fall/winter it'll be August 1.

For McWork, can non undergrads apply for the position or do you have to be in school? I'm graduating this year so I no longer have a degree in the summer and upcoming fall

If you google "McWork" and click on the first link, you'll see all of the information there.

But no, you are not eligible for McWork.

They should be posted regardless of whether or not you're eligible (I'm eligible for none but I could see tons)...are you sure you're searching correctly? I posted instructions above.

What criteria are you searching by? For me, when I press the big red button, a list of criteria come up and the first options are position type, and it has it broken down into summer and fall/winter. There's nothing under fall/winter since those jobs aren't up yet, but summer has plenty.
