Macbook pro Glass cracked
The glass (not the LCD) on my macbook cracked today...dont even know how. I am assuming applecare doesn't cover this type of damage. Any advice on what to do? A lot of people replace it themselves for under 50 bucks, but I am not too tech savvy.

Apple support is very accommodating, they've got your back bro

I've had lots of similar things fixed for me outside of warranty, let alone Apple Care.

I do have waranty but they dont cover accidental damage, I checked. They told me they would fix it for 400 bucks !!!!!! Are these people serious?? The glass costs 30-50 dollars, it takes less than an hour to replace it (I asked a local pc shop). So Apple is riping people off by around $300 if you count all their wages and what not. Ridiculous.

I called a repair shop near by and they said they would do it for $115. Last time I buy a mac.

^^^ maybe I should call another store? The one at yorkdale wasn't very accommodating.

No way, Apple would never rip its customers off.

Also not sure if pun @ "riping people off"

Did you call or walk into store?

Try going to the genius bar and see what they say, they replaced my iPhone Screen once at no cost. It all depends how nice of a genius you get. Especially since you bought Applecare as well, they might be a little nicer to you.

If not one of the repair shop will do just as good a job.

I would take it to any repair shop. $115 seems about right ($50 for parts,$65 for labor). But next time do yourself a favor and buy a well built machine...something like this
